Want to thank everyone for all their kind words and thoughts and prayers for Turbo. We said our good-byes to her last Friday, and just now bringing myself to write this. I could go on and on forever about how great she was, and how much I miss her, but words don't really do her justice. Some of my favorite moments....

Waffles and Frites
Sitting at Heathrow waiting on a plane to Brussels to meet my sister, who lives in Poland. As far as the list of things I never imagined I would say that ranks up there pretty darn high.
Feeling a bit guilty about going with Turbo in the hospital, but maybe will end up being a welcome distraction. Kristen visited Turbo yesterday, and not much to report other than to keep waiting. They played ball, I guess that depends on your definition, but if you throw it at Turbo's face she will catch it. For some reason Turbo had gnawed on one of her back legs, which are now all bandaged up. She looks quite the wreck now with her staples and legs bandaged and a collar to keep her from biting and licking herself. They have started electotherapy too, so there are a couple more shaved spots around where they attach the electrodes. Through it all she seems happy. Gives a bit of comfort at least. We won't get another update till Monday, so that leaves 3 days of healing, so fingers crossed when we talk to her doctor next he will have some positive news.
So I am off to the home of waffles, so I can't imagine how ugly its going to get, but I can assure you pickles will get his fill. I have been instructed to try the chocolate and cherry beers too. I see a lot of pics of food in my future.

Turbo Update
We visited Turbo in the hospital today. Really to talk to her Dr., and wish her happy birthday. I hoped against hope that she would jump up and run to us when we walked in the room, but was sadly disappointed. Her Dr. described the injury as 'significant' and he seems overly non committal about the future. Her nurse seems very positive, on the other hand. I am just scared.
Turbo looked pretty happy, but I can't imagine she is having any fun. She gets chicken for dinner so I guess its a small victory.
Going to be mid next week at the earliest before she gets to come home.
I am blown away by the incision... Don't scroll down if you have a weak stomach.
P.S. We are safe and sound, haven't been affected by any rioting yet. Most stuff is north London, but everyone is going home early and shutting down early tonight. Fingers crossed things don't continue to escalate.
You know that part of Back to the Future II when Biff is a millionaire and runs Hill Valley, and everything is chaos? It feels a bit like that around here right now. Everything is familiar but something just feels weird.

Turbo
Not sure who or how many people actually follows this, but wanted to get the news out to friends and family. Sorry if you have to find out this way, but it isn't something that I can really physically talk about yet. Turbo ruptured a disk in her spine on Thursday. She had lost all control of her body from mid spine to the end of her tail. She had some feeling still but not much.
She was taken to the Queen Mother Hospital, at the Royal Veterinary College, and had surgery mid day on Friday. She has been heavily sedated since the surgery, and they say its still too early to tell the prognosis. Her condition on Monday will be telling for the long term outcome and whether the surgery was a success or not.
We will post more when we know more.

Furry Friday
Turbo and Hampton sent us a picture from London letting us know how much fun they were having, and that they can't wait for us to come home!!!

Personally, I don't even think they know we are gone.

Furry Friday!!
Well today was our first day of the wierdest national holiday schedule ever. We have the next two Fridays and Mondays off, all for national holidays, so 3 days of work in the next 11. Score one for England!!
The girls celebrated vacation by eating breakfast and going back to bed. I think they celebrate every day this way, though. Even the flash on the camera didn't seem to phase them.

Furry Friday
We took the girls to another dog meeting, so they could play with the friends. A trek across central London to Regents Park. I don't know if I ever will get used to the parks here. Just blows me away to have so much wide open green space right in the middle of the city. Anyway, so a good 30 minute journey to the park and we get there and what do the girls do? First off they just follow Kristen around. The three of them seem to have a very codependent relationship. All the dogs get let off their leads and instead of playing with their friends......Hampton chases birds, and then plays ball by herself. Turbo randomly finds a kid walking through the park and proceeds to herd this poor kid around the park for the next 30 minutes. He instincts are amazing, we need to take her to meet some sheep and see what she can really do.

Spring!!!
A bold statement yes, but I think we might have actually turned the corner. It was 29 this morning when I got up, 36 when I left to ride my bike, and 51 when I got home. Bright sunshine all day, now wind and a high of 56. I can see why they say summer here is so great.
During the ride this morning, I saw an old guy, and I mean OLD, at the least 60, skate sking around the park. Now this wouldn't be so strange if he would have been out in some kinda of track suit or something that looked like he actually left the house with the intention of an athletic venture. But oh no, he was wearing corduroys and a sweater vest. Had a lock on his face like he couldn't believe what he was doing or where he was. I really wanted to stick around and see what happened next, but he didn't look like he was planning on going into motion any time soon.
Went out this afternoon to tour the HMS Belfast. Its moored right in the middle of town and seemed to be a pretty big attraction. There is rumor that they are going to move a aircraft carrier into town to tour, and put the concord on its deck, for people to look at. Anyway, pretty impressive ship, but couldn't imagine myself living on it. Give everyone who has ever served tons of credit.
Hard to imagine it was built in 1938 and was in service to 1970 something. People on board had to be thinking it wasn't logical to be sailing around the world in something that was older than they were, and probably older than their parents.
Seriously Turbo, nothing can be that bad that you have to look so sad. She uses her ball as a pillow everyday now. Not sure what her plan is, but it would probably work, if we just knew what she wanted.

That can't be good!!
Aye Aye Captain!!
Went to a French place for dinner on the way home....Didn't think I would like French food, but as long as it all comes like this, it is moving right up to the top of the list. Furry Friday
The girls continue to act more and more like people. They were so tired the lights and pictures didn't even phase them.
Funny it almost seems as they think its their bed.

Furry Friday!!
The girls had a play date last week with a bunch of their new friends. I was in North London so there were all kinds of new experiences.
The Girls first Tube ride. The didn't seem to mind but Bob wasn't so excited about the picture.
Turbo didn't know which end was the front
Hampton couldn't decide if she wanted to play ball or eat dinner.
Needless to say the other dogs were scared!
Wow!!
We had drinks at a dog friendly pup afterwards...yep that says 1535
She didn't even think twice, just jumped right up there.
There was a bus ride too, but buses aren't much for pictures. The girls had a great time, and slept all evening afterwards....so did Bob.

Flying Furry Friday
So Hampton has a signature move. You never see her get in it, but you will always find her when she is. Kinda like superman, ducking into a phone booth or something, Hampton just magically appears as 'The Flying Hambone'!! I don't get to see it very often because it seems associated with her mid day naps, but Kristen will send me a picture every once in awhile to show me what I am missing. As best as we can figure out she falls asleep and has some kind of dream that she is Underdog and flying like Superman. Definitely some sort of super hero dog saving the world from evil cats and stopping all the bone robbers. Not sure why she cricks her neck back the way she does, looks super painful. Anyway, here she is making her move.
