Villain CX put on a great race in Walker Park in OKC and turnout seemed to be pretty good for most categories. The course had just about everything you could ask for (except that the mud wasn't asked for).
It turned out to be a pretty strange day weather wise. Tons of rain last night made for a muddy course, and then as the sun came out and heated up to mid 70s it was a bit like two different races depending on where you were on the course. One slow and wet, and one hot dry and windy.
As I mentioned the real story was the goatheads and flats. I don't think anyone could have ridden the whole race without Stan's. I had two flats before the race even started. It was so bad that a bottle thrown after a feed picked up a handful of them.
This was the aftermath of the pits.
The trip was the first time I have gotten a good look at the changes downtown Oklahoma City. Gotta say I was pretty impressed and give credit to the companies really putting their money where their mouths are to make it happen. The new Devon Tower is quite a sight even though it sticks bout like a sore thumb above everything else downtown.
