The Royal Wedding

Here it is, the post you have been waiting for,The Royal Wedding. So the plan was to leave at 7 AM and head out to The Mall, but I woke up at 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. I think it had part to do with the excitement and part to do with the fact the sun was coming up. The spring brings long hours of daylight. So we ending up leaving our flat at about 6:30. It was pretty crowded by the time we got there, but we actually got a spot close to the road so we could see. I am sure you have all seen it on the news, but here are our pictures of the event.
The Mall - the road leading to Buckingham Palace
Beefeaters preparing for the Royals to ride down the Mall

Band

Kate on her way to Westminster Abey
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
The future King and Queen of England
Bridesmaids and page boys
The Queen and Prince Phillip
We were both pretty tired after the processional finished, so we headed home instead of watching the kiss. After we got home we watched the wedding on TV and saw the actual ceremony in Westminster Abbey.   It was amazing to be at such a historic event and worth the 5 hours of standing.
